4 Back-to-School Breakfast Recipes Featuring Pure Maple Syrup

So, our crew came up with a few family-friendly breakfast recipes featuring pure maple syrup.

Maple Banana Overnight Oats

Convenient and healthy, overnight oats mixed with some mashed banana, SAPJACK Grade A Golden maple syrup, and maybe even a dash of cinnamon, will undoubtedly make school mornings easier and healthier.

Ingredients:

  • Rolled oats (2 cups)
  • Milk (2 cups, dairy or non-dairy)
  • Pure maple syrup (1/4 cup)
  • Bananas (2)
  • Chia seeds (2 tbsp)
  • Vanilla extract (1 tsp)
  • Cinnamon (1/2 tsp)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, milk, maple syrup, chia seeds, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  • Slice the bananas and stir them into the oat mixture.
  • Divide the mixture into mason jars or containers with lids.
  • Refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours.
  • In the morning, give the oats a good stir and enjoy! Top with additional banana slices or nuts if desired.

Maple Yogurt Parfait

Pour some yogurt into a dish, add some fresh fruit, a little SAPJACK Grade A Golden maple syrup, and why not go with a little granola while you’re at it. Now that’s a parfait breakfast combination.

Ingredients:

  • Greek yogurt (4 cups)
  • Pure maple syrup (1/4 cup)
  • Granola (2 cups)
  • Fresh berries (2 cups, mixed)
  • Vanilla extract (1 tsp)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt with pure maple syrup and vanilla extract.
  • In serving glasses or bowls, layer the yogurt mixture, granola, and fresh berries.
  • Repeat the layers until the glasses are filled.
  • Drizzle a little extra maple syrup on top if desired.

Maple Apple Cinnamon Smoothie

Say hello to an easy to blend breakfast booster loaded with natural sweetness. All it takes is a blender, some SAPJACK Grade A Golden maple syrup, a little cinnamon, and a few of our favorite fruits, yogurt, almond milk, and more.

Ingredients:

  • Apples (2, peeled and chopped)
  • Banana (1)
  • Greek yogurt (1 cup)
  • Pure maple syrup (2 tbsp)
  • Almond milk (1 cup)
  • Cinnamon (1/2 tsp)
  • Ice cubes (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In a blender, combine the chopped apples, banana, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, almond milk, and cinnamon.
  • Blend until smooth. Add ice cubes if desired for a thicker texture.
  • Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Maple Pumpkin Pancakes

It isn’t Autumn yet, but already our palates are pining for some pumpkin! This delicious take on pancakes features some SAPJACK Grade A Amber maple syrup, pumpkin puree and a lot of other gourd things!

Ingredients:

  • Whole wheat flour (2 cups)
  • Baking powder (1 tbsp)
  • Pumpkin puree (1 cup)
  • Milk (1 1/2 cups, dairy or non-dairy)
  • Egg (1)
  • Pure maple syrup (1/4 cup)
  • Cinnamon (1 tsp)
  • Nutmeg (1/4 tsp)
  • Salt (1/4 tsp)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, milk, egg, and maple syrup until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it.
  • Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown.
  • Serve with additional maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
