Sappy Trees

For us
it’s about protecting
our forest.

LESS CO2 IN THE AIR.
MORE HEALTHY MAPLES.
TONS OF TASTY SYRUP.

Just letting the forest do its thing … it’s what we do best up here in Island Pond, Vermont. Our organic certification is a reflection of our commitment to taking care of the 20,000-acre forest that we work in every day. This isn’t just a grove of maple trees that we grew and manage. It’s a natural and diverse eco-system that happens to be home to A LOT of sugar maples…and all types of wildlife (manyendangered) that we consider to be neighbors. Our forest absorbs harmful carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and is the type of place that’s becoming way too rare. That’s why our entire crew and process is focused on delivering the true taste of the forest—and protecting it every step of the way.

Our Forest

CAN ABSORB THE ANNUAL CO2 EMMITTED BY
48,000 AVERAGE CARS
… EVERY YEAR.*

Humans make lots of carbon dioxide and trees like to eat it. Our trees make maple syrup and humans like to eat it. Let’s work together right?

Who Would have thought
Saving a forest would be so sweet.

We tread lightly…
About 6 miles a day

We minimize vehicular traffic in the woods to prevent damaging root systems and the forest floor.

Our Friends…
The wood thrush

We protect the large deciduouswoodlands they need to avoid continued decline. They sing to us.It just works.

We tap and untap every tree…
Every year

It’s a lot of quality time in the woods for the tree whisperers. It’s just one way we ensure our maples remain healthy. And it’s the right thing to do.

We preserve the entire forest eco-system…
not just maples

Our natural woods is home to many tree species, streams and wildlife. So we protect it for everyone …even the moose who love to chomp baby maples.

We make caring for it our culture

Sure … we’ve got a professional forester. But the entire SAPJACK crew is trained annually on how to become better stewards of the forest—not just syrup makers.

We protect the forest
You enjoy the true taste of it

Feel good knowing you’re doing sweet things for the planet.
